Crispy Chilli Beef Noodles

Preparation time: 10 minutes. Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients for crispy beef

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 500g lean steak mince
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger 
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes. 
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey

For the noodles

  • 1 red onion, finely sliced 
  • 1 red pepper, deseeded and sliced
  • 2 heads pak choi
  • 2 x 300g packets straight to wok Udon noodles
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Method for the crispy beef

  • Heat half the oil in a large non-stick pan or wok. Add the steak mince and cook until brown, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. 
  • Add onion salt, ginger, garlic granules, steak seasoning, chilli flakes, soy sauce and honey. 
  • Continue to fry until the beef is caramelised and crisp.
  • Remove the meat from the pan and set it aside; keep warm.

For the noodles 

  • Heat the remaining oil in the pan and stir-fry the onion, red pepper, and pak choi for 2 – 3 minutes until tender. 
  • Add noodles, soy sauce, vinegar, honey and stir.
  • Return the crispy chilli beef to the pan and mix the noodles before serving.
